I had a series of events in the past two weeks that I'd like to share because it illustrates so many points that may be helpful for Buyers and may be useful for the entire community.

A couple of weeks ago, I approached a Seller with a kinky custom idea that I thought would be right up her alley since her bio suggested she was up for anything. It turned out that she wasn't comfortable with what I was requesting and offered something similar in its place. Despite my confusion, I didn't push her at all (limits are to be respected at all times and are non-negotiable) *but* I also didn't take her up on her offer (Buyers deserve to seek out the exact experiences that they desire).

Instead I turned to a Seller I had previously played with, @Tuesday and, since I knew what she was capable of, I built out the fantasy to be more elaborate and even more kinky than in my original request. She had absolutely no issues with my request. On the contrary, she had a lot of fun with it and added some really nice touches of her own to the mix, creating something for me beyond my wildest dreams!

To me, this is how ATW *should* function and that is how it has consistently functioned for me over the years. While I also like to play with newer Sellers, there's a *lot* to be said for the tried and true. I've often seen Sellers express how much they love repeat Buyers and, in my experience, it's of great benefit to us Buyers as well.

So, to anyone who's feeling let-down recently, I'd encourage you to look back through your past orders and get in touch with one of the Sellers you previously enjoyed playing with. Not only will you have a much better chance of a great experience, but you may be surprised to discover some new tricks they have learned since you last played with them!

Speaking of Sellers I previously enjoyed playing with, I'd like to thank my owner @BrookesBottoms the very first Seller I'd played with and has kept me coming back ever since. You gave me an amazing experience right from our first encounter and somehow keep getting better year after year! I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me and continue to do for me. Over the past little while, I’ve read several cases on the dash about Buyers being sc @mmed

I’ve been here for over three years, have dealt with over 100 Sellers, completing nearly 400 orders between them, and there have only been 5 problematic ones (in most of those cases, I was able to work out some sort of acceptable resolution with the Seller; there were only two where I was out the money with nothing in return).

I am not a lucky person, so I don’t believe that my run of positive experiences here is due to random chance. I’m not questioning the negative experiences or the existence of sc @mmers, but I believe that there are *many* things we can do to minimize the risk. Here are some things I do, which others may find helpful and want to implement. I’ve listed them in order, starting with the most important rule as I see it.

1) Don't shop for "deals".

How much effort do you *really* think someone is going to put into a $10 physical item order? I believe that a large percentage of sc @ms are the result of such “Too good to be true” offers.

2) Look for active Sellers

The Sellers who are always posting listings, polls, commenting, joking around on the dash, etc... are invested in the community and are making an effort. IMO, it is *highly* unlikely that any of the names you recognize from their constant activity here will sc@m you. Also, you get a better sense of their personality and the sort of experience they might provide based on what they’re sharing.

3) Don't deal with Sellers who send generic messages and sales pitches.

I believe this is a good practice regardless of their intention. I don’t appreciate being treated like a number and the bulk of my few negative experiences have been from Sellers who reached out to me first with a mass mailing.

4) Verification and Reviews

I list these ones reluctantly and I lump them together for a reason. On the whole, I believe it is *somewhat* safer to deal with verified Sellers and those who have a history of positive reviews. However, observing this rule to the exclusion of all else won’t make you any safer. There are many stories of Buyers being sc @mmed by verified Sellers with a history of great reviews (and I’ve had negative experiences from such Sellers myself). So, if everything else looks good, I don’t care about a Seller’s verification status or review history but for those who want to completely minimize their risk, it’s something to consider.
